Sandbags and Fargo-Moorhead

Post by Sticks » Fri Apr 03, 2009 8:29 pm

Here is a neat little write-up on the sandbags produced here to fight the flood. I don't know how accurate it is, but still fun to read:

BTW, with all the rain and blizzards the past week there is a 75% chance the river will have a second crest by April 15 of ~40ft again, just shy of the record just set. The river currently sits 17 feet above it's flood stage of 18 feet (35 feet.)

My property is at a 38 ft level, but if we made it the first time I think we can the second.

Some pictures from the area. They call it a 100-year flood when in actuality both floods (1997 and 2009) are 500 year events.

Actually saying it could be 41 ft, surpassing the record just set.
